All depends on the model of USB. It it's nothing more than a thumb drive, I would avoid it. Linksys makes one that connects via USB, about the size of a deck of cards, with a popup antenna. It has worked good for some of my folks.
Ideally, I like hardware, PCI cards or PCMCIA cards.
depends well if u have a small home network then I guess u shud be happy with a usb adapter as that will mean that u will not have to open up the desktop tower.
I have used both internal cards and usb adaptors. The usb adaptors give you more flexibility and if there are issues it is easy to disconnect and reconnect. :smileyvery-happy:
Don't know alot about wireless. Do I need a antenna with a wireless card ? I need to set up at work , a auto dealership. We are switching over to a wireless system and I need to upgrade my computer. Opening the tower is no problem. I need a dependable set up.
The wireless PCI card for a desktop will have an antenna but you can get some cards that have an extention cable for the antenna that will allow it to sit on top of the desktop.
