Wireless Client Cannot Reconnect to a Wireless Access Point - FIX!

If you have to disable/enable your wireless adapter every 30 minutes or so, because your internet connection just hangs, then maybe this post is for you! You, my fellow Micro$oft user, are being affected by an XP known-bug, KB828940. More information can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828940 Microsoft has already an hotfix for the bug but if you have an OEM XP like I do, they won't give it directly to you, unless you pay €90 for it!! You are kindly asked to contact your manufacturer (Dell) for support on their bug. I did so yesterday but, so far, without any success... Good luck. If you have the hotfix would you be so kind as to let me know? Thanks

I'm running SP2 and I'm experiencing the same issue! Maybe with SP3?

>To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

>Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.

The hotfix is included in Service Pack2 (along with any number of other wireless features and improvements).  I suggest you upgrade if you haven't.  Alternatively, if you have SP2, then this isn't the cause of your problems
