Wireless compatability
Greeting to all
I just ordered my new Inspiron 1525. Noticed it has a wireless (N) card installed. Dont no much about networking. I currently have a Linkseys wireless G router in my home. 2.4 Grz. Will these two work together? If not what do you think would be the best to do? New router or USB adapter for laptop?
Thank
Kevin M

Draft-N wireless equipment is backward compatible to that of 802.11g and 802.11b standards, so they should work together. Of course network performance is then limited by older equipment on the network

Your G router should be fine. You can upgrade to a N router if you would like but it will not improve your internet connection. Only your speed on your Local area network will have the performance increase. If you would like to get rid of your old G router let me know what model you have and the first four serial number characters of it. For I might could use it.
