I HAVE TRIED ALL THIS AND STILL NO WI-FI. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? I'M TIRED OF BEING TIED TO THE HARD WIRE AND AM TRYING TO GET READY TO GO ON VACATION. THANKS.
We have tried all the suggestions and nothing works so far. I even tried plugging in a remote USB Wi-Fi and it will not recognize it. The only way I can get internet is by hard wire.
Make and model of your wireless router. What type of security? What channel? Did you setup the router?
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)

Cisco E1000 router with a Cisco wireless. The security on the router is the standard encrypted security. We set up the router since it's not our first time and we have a Cisco booster in two separate places to boost the signal. Wireless works on the TV, the Desktop, Hubby's laptop, my Iphone and his Evos phone.
◦Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any) We have done this many times. When I unplug the hard wire, turn everything off, wait 6 minutes and the gradually plug it all back in and then re-boot. It says my wiress connection is not connected. If you try to repair it, it says cannot finish repairing as it cannot connect to the network and to see my administrator (me). We apparently I'm not a very good administrator since I have no clue what is wrong. I have tried the same process (turning off) with the wireless USB connector and the same thing happens. It's so strange that it worked in the morning and in the afternoon it wouldn't work.
Restart the computer and try to connect. SEE ABOVE
What happens?
My answers are right after your questions. Thanks for your help and I hope we can figure this out.
You're not using Mac Address filtering in the router, correct?

I run Microsoft Security Essentials and the Windows firewall. But I've used these for a long time with no known issues.

swim2sea,
You can check the firewall settings in Microsoft Essentials and see if that helps.
Have you scanned for malware? Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware updtae it and do a quick scan. Post back the log if it finds anything.

swim2sea,
You're not using Mac Address filtering in the router, correct?
Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, then select your operating system. Under network, download the drivers from the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network adapter and save them to your desktop.
Make a system restore point.
Start, control panel, device manager, network, right click on Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection, left click uninstall. Tell it to remove all the drivers and software.
Restart your computer. When login to the unbrestricted user account, the new hardware wizard will try and install the adapter. Check in the device manager to see if the adapter is installed properly. If it didn't install properly, then use the drivers you save d to the desktop.

Absolutely not. The only Apple product I own is my phone. I'm not a fan of Apple computers but I do love my phone. And no, nothing Mac on my router.
