Wireless connection problem

Question

I've got a dell wireless 1390 connected to a belkin F5D7633-4 router. The problem i have is that only internet explorer will connect to the internet. Programes like itunes, xfire, messenger, fireox and email dont seen to have a connection. Any idea as to why?

Is this also a problem if you temporarily connect by wired ethernet?   Have you tried temporarily disabling all firewalls running on your computer to see if a fiewall has been misconfigured to block some types of connections?   Steve

Done all of that and still nothing else but internet explorer will work.

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode with Networking Support to see if the problem still exists in that mode?   Steve

no i haven't, the thing is i have 2 other compuers connected via wireles and they are fine.

That's why we are trying to troubleshoot the computer that doesn't work.  What happens in Safe Mode?   Steve
