Wireless connection problems - Inspiron 6000

Question

The problem is my wireless on my Inspiron 6000, it was working fine a few days ago but now it does not connect at all like it used to. The WIFI light comes on as i start the laptop then switches off when the desktop has loaded. I've tried pressing Fn + F2 to switch it on again which it does for a few seconds ( about 20-30 seconds) then the light goes off again but it still won't connect. I know its not my router because i can connect to the internet from my pc. i am using a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection if that helps. Can anyone suggest anything?

Check to see if the wireless MiniPCI card is firmly seated in the MiniPCI card slot.   http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6000/en/sm/minipci0.htm#wp1009645   Steve

Hi steve, thanks for posting. i have tried opening the laptop and checking it but still no luck- same thing keeps happening.

It sounds like a hardware failure, but you should also try updating the drivers with the latest drivers from the Intel web site.   Steve
