wireless connection shows red x

I have a weird problem with my latitude. The wireless icon shows a red x but I am connected and surfing. Also when I view my wireless connections it shows that I am not connected even though I am. It's reversed. Any ideas as to how to get it back to the right display.  Also someone else in our office wireless is doing the same thing and it is a toshiba.
