Wireless Connection Unavailable...after XP Pro upgrade installed!
I have an Inspiron 5150 with mini PCI WLAN 1300 adaptor.
My wireless connection under Windows XP Home edition seemed to work just fine, seeing 3 different wireless networks available in my office. However, when I updated to Windows XP Pro, immediately I started having wireless connection problems! In fact, since my internet access was through my wireless connection, I lost the connection after the update and could not even register Windows!
I have not installed SP2 because others have told me that the Inspirons have speed problems after the installation. Nontheless, I don't understand why my wireless connection would be lost after the XP Pro update.
Also, sometimes when I open the Dell Wireless Wan Uitlity, it takes upto an hour or two to see available network connections. If I am lucky enough to see them, it is still no gurantee that I can connect! Even though the diagnostics passes and the site monitor shows (after some time has elapsed) that wireless networks are available with excellent signal, the signal meter on the task bar does not show a signal, and thus I can not connect.
I hope there is enough information here to help you help me. Also, I have downloaded and isntalled all the latest drivers and bios that was available from Dell.
Thank you.

You no longer need the Dell utility since XP SP2 natively supports WiFi. The latest Truemobile driver can be found at the Windows Update Corporate site linked above. Look under driver updates for hardware devices for the Broadcom network WLAN driver.

Thanks, but I can not find the Broadcom WLAN driver version 3.70 (for the BCM94306-M chipset) anywhere!
(not in Microsoft, Broadcom or Cnet websites)
The Microsoft site gives Windows Update Error when searching for the Broadcom driver under Windows XP Pro.
Other than installing SP2, any other suggestions to get a more reliable wireless network?

Sounds like I have the same problem, except my wireless adapter is Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, OS is XP home and computer is 8600.
I tried the link to Microsoft and got the same error message.
Whether I use the Intell software or tell windows to manage the wireless, it won't come on.
Any suggestions?
