Wireless connection

I have had no problems until now with my wifi.  My wifi is switched on but I cannot pick up any connections suddenly.  Anyone know why?  My cat walked across my keyboard, do you think a setting has been changed?

Sorry Steve, it is a Dell Inspiron 6400 note book.  Not at home at the moment so cannot remember what the adapter is except it is an intel.  Running Windows XP.  Thanks for your help with this - so frustrating when I cannot see anything obvious wrong.

Whenever you post a message here, it is always important to provide basic information, like the model of your computer, model of your network adapter, and version of Windows you are running.  On many Dell models the Fn F2 key combination toggles the wireless radio on and off.  See if that helps.

The Fn F2 key combination does toggle the wireless radio on and off on that model.  See the information beginning on page 70 of your Owner's Manual:
