wireless connections/dell and mac networking

I just bought a dell inspiron 6000 w/ windows nt.
I have a powermac laptop using OS X and a desktop mac G4 using OS X as well. We are all connected to the web using a linksys wireless G 2.4gHz.
I don't know much about networking, but I want to know if there's a way to wirelessly connect to the printer (Epson 1280) without having to use a cable.
Also, before I got the dell, and still, when I go into the office to connect to the printer with my mac laptop and, now, my dell laptop I lose my connection. I have to restart my computer.

Anyone have any advice? I would be willing to hook up everything all over again, but I have a feeling the problem might have to do with the settings in the computers, or duplicate names, or even printer drivers (I just tried to install the Epson driver onto the dell via internet and I cannot print anything on the Epson even when connected using a cable. That's how I realized the loss of wireless connection to the web was still happening even with the new Dell)

Also, while I was trying to print something off the Dell, I went through the Wizard Assistant for setting up a network for file and print sharing. So, I don't know if I turned file and print sharing on on the dell, but I thought I should mention that. I'm a little confused about file sharing and print sharing. I don't want the computers to not have any security. Music sharing on iTunes is turned on on the mac laptop.

I know this is a lot of stuff, but I'm just confused.
Thanks,
Stacy

Yes, you can connect all your systems to your printer wirelessly, via your router or using a wireless print server. Can you share files between your computers?

As to your Inspiron losing it's connection...most connection problems can be corrected if, the network settings are identical for all devices configured in the network.

When you say network settings, what do you mean? I use Windows xp on my new dell, and osX on the two macs. Is it still possible?

When I tried to set up a network on my dell it prompted me to use a flash drive, which I have, but wasn't sure if it would transfer to the macs since they're on OSX.

Should I use the flash drive and set it up on the Dell (Windows xp)?

Thanks for responding,
Stacy

It's been my past experience that, because of the difference of operating formats between PC and MAC that, any attempts to network the systems automatically using Network Wizards ends in misconfigurations or problems with the network. It's better to configure your network manually, assigning static IP addresses to each computer. There are other settings as well, that have to be identical on each computer. WEP/WPA encryption, network name(SSID), DNS servers, etc. This is what I'm refering to as network settings.
