Wireless Connectivity

I have an Inspiron laptop XP machine.  I have to reset the Wireless Zero Configuration to Auto Start each time I boot up my machine and then reset the "Use Windows to Configure my wireless Networks" before gaining wireless connectivity.  My router does not broadcast and has WEP encryption enabled.   How can I get XP to hold the settings for seamless connectivity?
