Wireless Connects, but cannot see second router

My new Dell e1505 arrived today with included Intel Wireless Software and Card. I have 2 netgear routers (one wireless, one not, see below). The wireless (through windows and intel software with encryption key) is connected to the wireless network, but cannot ping the primary router. I have checked and double checked the key (it connects to the nework though).

My setup is:

Cable Modem > Netgear FVS318 Ethernet Router > Netgear wireless Router.

I entered in the exact same information in the tcp/ip configuration as was on another computer sitting 1 foot away from the laptop, except for the ip address (it is not conflicting with another IP).

I can connect to the wireless router, but i can't ping the FVS318.

Any help is appreciated

I would eliminate the totally wired netgear from the equation and go with just the modem and the wireless access point, at least until you get it to work. Do you have more than three or four WIRED connections to make?
