Can you please give us your system model number so we can help you better?
Since I don't know which model you have I'm going to make an assumption that this is a fairly recent system. So here are some questions:
When you reloaded your system did you install the Dell Notebook System Software first?
Did you install the drivers for you system following this article? What order do the drivers need to be installed in Windows XP on my Dell desktop or portable computer?
Are you using the most current driver for this card R140747
Did you check the power management settings of the card? You can do this by going to Device Manager clicking on Network Adapters and finding the 1350 card right click go to Properties and go to the Advanced tab and change the power management to always on.
Formatted hard drive, installed fresh version of xp...installed all the dell drivers in teh requested order and still its a no go. I know its not the wireless network itself because i am on that network now using the old hard drive, i have no idea what to try next, it seems like i have tried everything and now i am starting to get frustrated.
Well we know that the adapter is correct since it works with the other hard drive so there has to be a setting that's different for some reason. So let's try this:
Boot your system to Safe mode
Go to the device manager
Click on the + next to Network Adapters
Remove all adapters listed below Network Adapters then reboot
Once back up allow the system to find all the new hardware.
Once done, go back to the Device Manager
Click on Network adapters
Find the 1350 adapter.
Right click on the 1350
Go to properties.
Look for power management and make sure it is set to full power.

There is no power management option under the properties for my 1350. Under the advanced tab it says Power Save mode and Minimum Power Consumption, thats it...Teh settings under Advanced for the card are identical on both of the hard drives.
I have another discover that may aid in finding the problem.
When I am directly by the wireless access point with the new hard drive in, the internet works (although not at full speed) but it stays connected and doesn't drop the signal. But when I go into my room with it I lose the connection and cannot stay on.
But with the old hard drive in I can keep a connection in my room without ever dropping it and it downloads at full speed. Maybe its a setting with the sensitivity with the card? Also the Dell WLAN utility has trouble automatically picking up a single with the new harddrive in but has no trouble finding a single with the old hard drive.
I am using Dell600. It is ok on direct connection. on wireless it is connected to the network but explorer not opening please help me. it there any thing wrong indell1350 card?
