WPA and WPA2 encryption with TKIP will do this forever.  Try changing to AES from TKIP and or switching channels.

You are buried in routers that are all on the same channel.

Changing the router's security settings to WPA2(AES) has solved this.

Connection "drops" every few minutes

when using WPA - Personal TKIP

Thank you for the reply!

A couple of things, you said I was buried in routers on the same channel, how do I simplify things?

Also you said to change the router's security settings to WPA2(AES). I can't seem to find that option. Can you give me some guidance?

Thanks so much!

Keola55,

Does this system have Dell Control Point installed? If so try uninstalling it and allow Windows you manage your connection.

How can I disable wireless configuration services and enable the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration services

How to start Wireless Zero Configuration using Vista/Windows 7

Also go to device manager, network, 1490 adapter, advanced. Look for antenna Diversity. Change it from Auto to Aux, then restart your computer.
