Wireless file sharing...
For anyone having trouble moving files between two different systems using a wireless connection, I have a quick solution. Definitely not the most technical, but it works for me until I can get something going on the network end:
I used my current e-mail address to setup .NET passport #1. I now setup another .NET passport account using a different logon name and password. This gives me, in effect, two .NET passport accounts. Now, I simply use either windows messenger or MSN messenger to transfer files back and forth between the two computers. I prefer MSN messenger since I can choose a group of files to share between both.
Since I can now use any MSN service between my two machines, it would be nice to see what's going on on inside my house while i'm outside surfing. My wife can finally tell me dinner's ready time without yelling out the front door! Just use video chat. Heck, I could put the wireless laptop in the baby's room, complete with a netcam, and make sure everything's ok while I work from a different room in the house on my desktop.
I wouldn't transfer sensitive files this way since it loops all data through the messenger servers, but it allows me to transfer pictures and other files not too sensitive in nature. Sure beats using floppys and other removable media.
