Wireless Help
I have a Inspiron 1100 Laptop and have a D-Link WNA-1330 Notebook adapter. I also have a Dell Dimension 2400. To the 2400 we have installed a D-Link WBR-1310 router and it appears to be working fine and I am able to connect to the internet okay.
I am running Windows XP Pro on both machines.
I am trying to install the adapter to my laptop. I have called D-Link tech support and after several failed attempts I was advised to call Dell regarding my problem.
After installing the software and the adapter on the laptop, I get an error message in the Device Manager that reads following:
This device cannot find enought free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
I have used the troubleshooter to try to resolve this issue, but have not been so lucky. I cannot seem to find the other device that is causing the conflict. Here is the information under the General Tab in the Properties window for the adapter:
D-Link WNA-1330 Notebook Adapter
Device Type: Network Adapters
Manufacturer: D-Link
Location: PCI bus 3, device 0, funtion 0
Another item I would like to mention, when looking for network places there is no wireless network icon. I can only see LAN or High Speed Internet Icon.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. We have spent several hours at this point trying to get rid of the wires. Both these computers worked fine previously with a wired system.
Thank you.

I haven't had this exact issue, but one like it...
Remove the Wi-Fi card from the Laptop.
In Device Manager, if you have any yellow "?", un-install / delete them.
Un-install the D-Link software that came with the card. and Reboot.
Re-install the software first and then insert the Wi-Fi card either when asked or when the software is completly installed.
All Wi-Fi configurations should be done using the D-Link software, not Windows Network Manager.
Not sure if this will help or not... Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we tried that several times still no luck. My husband called D-link again and they told him to return the adapter maybe it was defected.
Thank you for trying to help.
