wireless internet
do i need to have a proper computer in order to provide a wireless connection for my laptop? e.g. does the wireless router have to be plugged in to a computer?

No, the wireless router does not need to be plugged into a computer. But, if you need to configure the wireless network or troubleshoot a wireless network when you can't connect by wireless, you need to be able to temporarily connect a computer to the wired etherent port on the router.
