wireless is unstable. any ideas?

I have a linksys wireless router. which is a 802.11b. I know the b's arent as good as G's. but, My connection will just like restart itself. I cannot dowload files or stay connected to AIM very well. Is there any way to fix this other than buying G router? Thanks
