wireless keeps turning off once connected, help!
hey all,
I have a really annoying problem with the Inspirion 6400 onboard wireless! Here is the problem step by step:
1. Load windows, wirless config finds the network ok.

2. Connect to the network.

3. Try and and ping the router.

As you can see a connection is made, the comp is assigned an ip address, however the connection dies after a few seconds, Windows dosent report that I have lost connectivity, it still says I am connected and an IP address is still assigned however after 3 mins the wireless card turns off and windows hangs when trying to view anything associated with wireless. In order to activate the card again I have to reboot. Does anybody have any ideas? I will call tech support on monday, I only got the laptop on friday and it been a headache this weekend. Below is a list of things I have tried:
1. Windows and Intel software to manage connections
2. Latest wireless drivers from intel
3. Disable wireless security
4. Force wireless b/g only
5. Various channels

What was the default (original) setting and the value to which you changed it?
