Check your network connections to make sure your wireless adapter is not disabled. Right click on the connection to check the status. The wireless is separate from your Ethernet (wired) connection.
You should always mention your operating system and model computer when asking a question. If you just restored Windows XP, for instance, you must install the Notebook System Software first along with the chipset drivers and before all other drivers. If you don't install those first, the other drivers--including the network adapters-- will not install properly.
