Wireless network card question/problem

I have a wireless home network. My wife's Inspiron 1501 has a number of problems that my computer guy at work says sounds like her network card has failed. He suggested I get another wireless card, disable the original, and see if that helps. I picked up a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card. Can that be inserted into the express card slot? If so, I can't get it to insert, and I'm afraid to push it harder, for fear of breaking something. If I can't insert an external card, do I have any other options to replace the network card?

If the card you purchased is a PCMCIA wireless network card, then no, it will never work in an Express Card slot, no matter how hard you push.  They PCMCIA cards are not the same as Express Cards.

I was able to try a USB wireless adapter and that seemed to solve all the network/internet/download problems, so I ordered a replacement mini card from Dell. Thanks
