Wireless network connection box deactivated

Question

I was using the internet as usual and my connection stopped after I clicked on something about running scripts.  Now I cannot connect to the internet using my inspiron (using windows xp).  when I open the box  for Wireless network connection box that says choose a wireless network I get a message 'windows cannot configure this wireless connection' .   I am able to click on and see Intel Proset/wireless which appears to be active - I have never used this before.  My wireless access is password protected using the the other device but I do not know how to make it work.  So even though the modem is working fine I cannot get my computer to connect.  Please help.

What 'other device' are you using? How were you connecting to the internet before? :smileyhappy:

My modem works fine.  I am connecting with an dell old desktop connected directly to my verizon DSL modem.  The problem appears to be with the software in my inspiron 9300 computer which controls connecting wirelessly.

Sorry, but I am not understanding your response.

You say you are connecting with an old dell desktop - do you mean you are connecting with a wireless system such as linksys? If so, click onto your linksys icon and troubleshoot from there.
