Wireless Network Problem. Will 108 work with 54 mpbs?

Hi, I am using an AT&T plug and share router. I tried going to their support site but it is missing a lot of links and is very poorly kept. (cant Email them ethier). The router runs up to 108 Mpbs. I got a network card that runs at 54 mpbs. It currently is not working correctly. The network card gets the signal and has a 100% connection but it for some reason fails the test of recieiving the actual cable internet. Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks
Brian.

Have you tried running your router at 54Mbps?  Strictly speaking, channel bonding speed boosting technology requires 2 Wi-Fi channels (hence 54Mbps x 2 = 108Mbps) exclusively at both ends to function, so your adapter will probably won't work correctly with it.

some devices have static turbo modes that require all clients to be 108 capable.  this is rare though.  usually 108 routers will function perfectly well with 54mbps hardware -- though at the lower speed for everything on the network.

other improvement options besides channel bonding (packet bursting, etc) may or may not work with other cards.

Yes, I did try running it at 54 mpbs. Still didnt work. I also tried to disable things like "Turbo G" just in case the network card could not accept them. Still didnt work. I would think they should work perfectly since they are both AT&T products. I have one other wireless care on a different computer that works fine. It is the one that came in the same box as the router. I dont know what to do. I guess Ill countine to look around.

Thanks for your response

Make sure your client computer does NOT have any hard-coded TCP/IP
You should have DHCP set to obtain a TCP/IP address automatically.
Please report values of IPCONFIG /ALL >My.TXT
then COPY and Paste text results.
