You can only use either/or WPA or WEP. Not both at the same time. Uisng WEP is more complictaed as yoiu have to use 64 or 128 digits (letters/numbers) for the pass code. Far too much work and the encryption is easier to break (for hackers). Though, I suppose I could try using WEP for all the computers/printer on the network and see how it fares. Maybe I'll give that a try this weekend (it will take hours to encrypt all the machines).
You are able to use WPA encryption on some devices and WEP on others? I wasn't aware that that was possible.
Since your router/AP is accepting WEP encryption from the P-3 550MGhz system, you essentially just have a WEP secured network. Why not switch everyhthing to WEP and see if the problems go away?

BTW, your devices may be able to support WPA if an upgrade is available for them.
