Ping the NIC @ 127.0.0.1 and let's start eliminating one thing at a time.  Post back the results.

Well, I did what you said and here are the results:

"Reply from 127.0.0.1:bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128"

This shows up four times, identical.

Then:

Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1: Packets: Sent=4, Received=4, Lost=0<0% Loss>,

approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum=0ms, Maximum=0ms, Average=0ms

 

I have absolutely NO idea what in the world all of this means!  :-)

Thanks for all of your help, I found the problem. When I reinstalled the software for the Network adapter, for some reason the driver did not reload. I just reloaded it and it immediately picked up on the wireless network.

That's good news.  What you did was to confirm that the NIC was working properly.
No Events found!
