Wireless not working after XP reinstallation

hi,

i recently reinstalled XP and all required drivers, utilities. am able to connect to LAN.

The status says that wireless is connected with excellent signal strength but i am not able to browse.

the wireless adaptor is active and ive manually assigned the DNS server IPs. ive tried typical reinstalling, booting etc.

Pls help!

Thanks for your time,

hi,

finally its a success!

and the issue was with the incorrect Network Keys!

im really very sorry for my insanity.

and last but not the least, ur inputs provided me with considerable insight into the basics of wireless setup :emotion-1:

I appreciate your follow through on the issue until a resolution was reached.

Do you have to assign the DSN server? Most ISP's have a dynamic server and this is not required.

Have you tried temporarily  Disabling your AV/ firewall?

Another thing to try is to boot into Safe mode with network support and see if will connect that way.

hi,

like you said, it was automatically done in case of LAN.

for wireless there was an error that ip address could not be assigned. hence input the DNS server.

Perhaps the issue is linked to this?

and doesnt work with firewall disabled/ safemode

i appreciate ur help,

pls suggest if u ve more ideas.

Is your router set to provide DHCP addresses?

Check your adapter settings to make sure that the are not set to static but dynamic

See HERE for some info
