Wireless PCI adapter card

I have a Dimension L1000R desktop I want to convert to wireless broadband.  Can I swap the NIC PCI card for a wireless PCI adapter card with an antennae and expect it to connect to my wireless DSL modem?  I have no vacant PCI slots.

Yes, you can swap out the PCI NIC for a wireless PCI adapter, but why not just get a wireless USB adapter.  That way you would still have ethernet capability in case you ever need it (for example to troubleshoot any wireless problems you may encounter).

Thanx, Steve.  I cut my teeth in electronics when it was still vacuum tubes and am just learning computers.  Didn't know there was a USB alternative.  The Dell was my first computer in 2001, so I'm a newbie at this.  Dated myself, didn't I?
