Wireless Printer/File Sharing..HELP!!!!

I am having a major issue between my laptop and desktop.  I just purchased a Dimension 4700, and have a Dell Latitude laptop (for work) and want to share files and printers.  I do have a Linksys Wireless G router connected to my desktop, and a wireless card in my laptop.

How do I get the two computers to see each other?  My internet connectivity is fine, if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks!

Make sure File and Printer Sharing is enabled on each computer.  Make sure you have designated printers/drives/folders as shared resources.  If this has been done and you still cannot share files and printers, it is most likely due to improperly configured firewalls.  On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Center, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.

I forgot to mention.  The desktop is running XP Home and the laptop is running XP Professional.
