wireless problem in latitude 610

Question

hi there, my laptop is an old laptop, but never had a problem with it so far. i have a strange problem now. i have been able to use wireless network using my external truemobile 1150 pci card for a long time now, both at home and at work. at home, i have a wireless router (linksys). i'm running windows xp pro on my laptop. since two days, my laptop would not detect any networks. i dont remember doing anything to my wireless settings. i have updated the drivers for my truemobile card, but to no avail. any help will be greatly appreciated. oh yea, my roommate's laptop works just fine with the wireless network at home. so i do not think its a problem with my wireless router. i tried hard resetting my cable modem, router and restarted my laptop too. i disabled and enabled the wireless network connection on my laptop. OS: windows xp pro Laptop model: Dell Latitude 610 Wireless card: External Truemobile 1150 card. Wireless router: linksys WRT54G. thx!

You also may have already tried doing an UNinstall in device manager (hardware) and then shutting down your computer, starting it back again to get it to detect the device again. If you have anything like Symantec Internet Security (or McAfee), disable it (for 4 hours or 'until re-boot')
