WIRELESS PROBLEM TO SOLVE!

Hi all,
 
i have a linksys wpc54gs wireless adapter in an inspiron5160 wirelessley connecting to a new bt home hub.
 
The laptop / adapter connect fine to the hub / router but cannot see the internet!!
 
I believe it is because the Laptop is autoconfig the wrong ip address. ( i have tried cmd prompts ipconfig renew/ release etc and still it cannot auto find the right bt range of ip's .
 
My tcp/ip etc is auto obtain.
 
Please please ,some tech genius tell me how to get my laptop to find the right address

sorry - it also says when i try ipconfig renew - - error occured - unable to contact dhcp server  (any idea what that is?

Check the router make sure the firewall is turned off.

Then, pull the power plugs on the: Router and Cable modem, wait 30seconds plug the Cable modem in, let it completely reset and all the lights stop flashing, then plug in the router.


See if that helps.
