Wireless problems
I have since long a desktop with a D-link wireless router connected to a Fuj/Sie-laptop via an external PC-card. Works nicely.
Now I have a new Dell Inspiron 510m, with an internal PC-card, and I am not able to get any connection.
The small icon in the systray has a red cross, and it says "Not connected....".
Can someone give me a hint where to begin?
It should be said that the other laptop functions ok all the time, that is, no problem with the net.
My explanations may seem a little strange, but it's not an easy task to explain technical stuff in a foreign tounge. Try answering me in Swedish, and you shall understand! :-)

try using Fn+F2 to turn it on if that is the case.

Does device manager see your wireless card as working normally?

Device Manager has nothing bad to say about the wireless card - "fungerar korrekt" it says in Swedish, and that much Swedish I guess you understand.

Nevertheless, the fact that you don't know if encryption has been set up on your router usually means that no encryption (i.e. WEP or WPA) has been enabled.

Giving up!
Now I have borrowed 3 laptops of different brands and with internal wireless cards. They all function promptly and perfectly in my network. But the Dell Inspiron - not at all. And I can't get any support from Dell since I have no Service Tag available.
So, I am returning it, just don't know the procedure yet.
Thank You all for your efforts in trying to help me out!
