Wireless repeater, no internet connection

I've been trying to figure out an issue with my d-link 800ap+ repeater. I have one xp home sp2 machine that will not connect to the internet. I have been able to successfully connect a couple of xp pro sp2; windows 2000 pro; and even 2 Windows ME machines to the repeater and get out to the internet. Having been able to successfully connect 7 other computers to the repeater to get out to the internet, I think that I have the repeater setup properly. On the XP Home machine, using the 1450 dual mini-pci card, having issues. If I use WZC, when the repeater signal is used, the ip address changes to an address that is outside my network, so that doesn't work. When I disable WZC, I maintain the same ip address that assigned via the AP. If I move the laptop closer to the AP, ip address stays the same and I can connect out to the internet. Both my AP and repeater have the latest firmware. I have installed the latest driver for the 1450 (R151519 3/22/07). I have been up and down with the assigning a static ip address and using the AP address as the default gateway, doesn't help. I've gone through the settings of the wireless card, doesn't help. So any additional suggestions? I would LOVE to hear them. The one thing that I have not tried is to use a wireless adapter from a different laptop to see if the problem lies with the XP Home or the 1450 card.

Update #3 I installed the Boingo wireless utility to manage the internal 1450 wireless card. Can't connect to the internet. By my logic, looks like it is an issue with the 1450 card itself. If someone from Dell is browsing the forum and has some other suggestions, please let me know, of if there is something specific that I should look for on the card that would be great. Is there another option for a mini-pci wireless card that is compatible with an Inspiron 6000? Hope you enjoyed my internal troubleshooting session - I actual had fun.

Here's an update. I installed an Airlink 101 b/g card. No problem connecting to the repeater. Guess this now leading me down the path that it is either the 1450 card or the Dell Wireless management utility.
