I can't speak specifically about the 524, which is the G standard (54mbps), but I've been really happy with the way my 514+ (enhanced B standard) model has worked, for about a year now. D-Link's setup/control program is pretty easy to use and gives you good feedback.
The only things I'd put on my wish list (and these may be better on the 524) are the ability to shut off the wireless (it can disable the ability to connect to wireless, but radio signal is still broadcast) and the ability to do MAC filtering just on the wireless side (any filtering applies to wired and wireless)
