Wireless Signal Boosters

Hello.
I have an Inspiron 8600 with a TrueMobile 2300 router and TrueMobile 1400 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI Card.  The lap top is used about 50 to 60 feet from the router.

Normally, the signal strength is "very low" and I have recently been getting dropped more frequently.  It seems that the dropped signals has increased somewhat since I installed Service Pack 2.  I have tried changing channels to no avail.

Any suggestions (other than moving closer to the router lol ) ?

Has anyone had any experience with a signal booster with the TrueMobile?

I'm looking forward to you replies and help.  Thank You.

There are signal repeaters available that should work with most any model router.

Either get an amplifier, or just get an external antenna for the TrueMobile card. If I recall, that's a PCMCIA card OEM'd by Dell with an external antenna jack. If so, go to: fabcorp.com and have them price out the equipment.

hello:

Or you can try updating your firmware and any other updates that are required for your computer.  This usually works.
