Wireless switch causes Windows undo

Have a bit of an odd problem.  Whenever I cycle the wireless switch on the side of my Latitude D600 series laptop, it undoes the last thing I typed/moved/deleted.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Is there a fix available?  The temporary fix is to always have a notepad open and type some junk before turning the wireless either on or off.

Thanks

Hi!

Good news: you’re not the only one

I seem to have the same odd problem. I have for some time wondered why my computer automatically undoes both in windows and the programs I use. This day I just discovered that the “auto undo” can be triggered by cycling the wireless switch!

Bad news: If haven’t found any fix yet!

I have a Latitude D820 laptop.

Hi,

I have a Dell Latitude D630 with BIOS version A16, and a Windows 7 x68 Prof Eng. I had the same problem, and I found the following workaround. I installed the software for a Microsoft Natural Keyboard, and on that keyboard there is an undo button. I had to disable the reaction to the undo button in the Microsoft Keyboard software, and then there was no undo after I turned the wireless switch off.

Anyway, it is a really nasty situation, that the WLAN switch sends the same signal as an undo button.

Hope this helps,

Zoltan

I have D820 and just had the same problem. I had unintentionally cycled the wireless switch, but did not connect it with the randon undo until I found this forum.

For some years I have had problems with Dell laptops and unexpected behavior similar to this. I believe it is also connected to Microsoft Intellitype and Intellipoint.

Plug in projector to VGA port - screen would repeatedly zoom / magnify. Had to uninstall intellipoint to fix this.

Use function keys to change screen brightness - launces Microsoft Word. Never been able to resolve this one.

Zoltan,

That fixed it.  Thanks for the solution.  It was a big annoyance.
