wireless switch on dell dimension 5000

I am trying to set up a wireless network with my dell dimension 5000.I have bought a wireless lan USB adapter IEEE 802.11b/g.

I have also updated my drivers off the dell website.

it does not recognise the USB adapter - not plugged in properly = it is ? or TURN THE WIRELESS SWITCH ON ?

WHERE IS THE WIRELESS SWITCH ON THIS PC ?

There is no wireless switch on a Desktop. The wireless is handled by the adapter. Did you buy the USB adapter from Dell?

When you open up Device manager does the adapter show up under the network listing.
