Wireless tray applet has stopped working
I have a inspiron 1525 and 9 times out of 10 when I start up the computer I get the message "Dell wireless WLAN card wireless network tray applet has stopped working". When this happens I can still get on the internet. But I can't scroll the screen using the touchpad. Dell installed a new touchpad and that helped for about one day. I hooked up with them online twice and one tech updated the touchpad driver and another said it was my avast software that causes the problem, I say no way, because it worked for 6 months before this problem started. Anyone have any suggestions?

Check to make sure that only one Wireless Manager utility is enabled. Is it the Dell WMU, or is it Windows WZC? Avast should be constantly auto-updating itself daily. Sometimes an update can corrupt the Windows registry which will create collateral damage to the file system.

Simple fix... Problem is incompatible driver. Fix... disable service. Right click computer > Manage > Services > scroll down to Dell Wirless WLAN > Right click > properties > disable the service. Reboot and you will see it pop up for a tail second and it will go away and will not bother you again. All will still work fine.
