Wireless won't receive packets. Tests say everything is fine. Help?
I'm getting very frustrated with something I accidentally did and cannot seem to undo. My wireless card has always worked perfectly fine until I checked a box in the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" window labeled "Intel Wireless Connection Agent". For some reason I hit Install then Client and it installed something then wanted to restart. I figured it was some driver service I just hadn't activated yet. So I restarted Windows changed slightly with the windowed logon screen instead of the welcome screen. The computer rebooted and I don't have wireless internet. It says connected but its not receiving any packets. I uninstalled what I accidentally installed figuring it would fix the problem...WRONG. No wireless packets are getting received. I tried system restore about 5 times to different points tried directly unistalling the services I installed. Nothing works. I uninstalled the network card let windows reinstall it still didn't work. I downloaded (using the wired LAN connection) the dell support pack thing from the site didn't work. I certainly hope you can help because I can't find anything on message boards like this it's probably something simple that I'm overlooking. I emailed Dell support and they told me to call wireless support, but I was on hold for over an hour. I know that it worked fine several hours ago and after I troubleshooted it, it still doesn't work. Please help me I want wireless internet.

Holy ****, I fixed it, and now I'm late for work.
I solved the problem by connecting to my neighbor's wireless network, renewing some ip addresses, and then reconnecting to mine, renewing some more. After a few tries and setting of the automatic netoworks, it seems to be working fine. Spread the word. And I was already to go buy another network card...
