Wireless Zero Configuration problem. Won't start automatically

Hi and thank you for any responses.  I have a Inspiron 2650 that is about 10 years old...maybe a bit more.  It's running Windows XP and for the most part, it works absolutely beautifully.  I purchased a Belkin Wireless G Notebook card  (802.11g) model # F5D7010.  I also have a Belkin Wireless G Router, model # F5D7230 -4.  The Belkins were purchased some time ago.  The card started having some problems a few months ago, so I took it out and just plugged in an ethernet cable to the router.  Well, the other day, I spoke to both my DSL company (Bell South) and also to Belkin.  I re-learned how to set up wireless.  All was perfect.  Here is where I am having a problem.

When I close the laptop (hybernates) or if I shut it down and then power up, the ion on the bottom right says "Limited or no connectivity".  Now, I know how to fix this.  I go to Start - Run - type in Services.msc, and scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration.  It is set to Automatic, but I need to right click and 'Start' the service.  I then go into Network connections from the control panel.  I right click on Wireless and go to the middle tab.  The box for 'Use Windows to configure my wireless settings' is not checked.  I check it and then remove the network (mine) showing in the Preferred Networks box.  I click OK.  When the Wireless icon says no connection, I right click again and select 'View available networks'.  I select my network.  I enter my security code and, voila, I am online.  Unfortunately, I need to do this whenever my computer shuts down and powers up.  Also, when I am at Wireless Zero Configuration, I can right click - properties - recovery, and they are all set to 'Restart the service'.  Is there a way to make this service work properly?

Thank you

Dan

Does the Belkin card have its own wireless utility?  If so, open the utility and look for an option to Let this utility configure wireless networks or something like that.  Disable it from controlling the wireless network, and Windows should then be in control.

Steve ... BULLSEYE !!!    I opened the Belkin utility and there it was, staring me in the face.  A checked box which said 'Let this tool manage your wireless settings'.  I unchecked it, restarted the computer and I'm back in business.  Thank you for your "right on target" diagnosis.
