wirless adapter problems

I recently purchased a inspiron 8600 with the regular configuration. My wireless connection keeps dropping all the time saying the adapter is out of range. I use a netgear router at home and have used it in other places too and the same thing happens. It is frustrating cause it cant be fixed.

If I try to go to the wireless setting for the wireless card and try to connect to an available network it prompts saying that the profile management features have been turned off cause the card is communicating with another wireless utility. Is there any solution to this. It will show the networks but not connect to them

I am having the same problems it seems as many of you have had.

I can get a signal between my Inspiron 8600 w/TrueMobile 1400 Card and my new WRT54G v1.1 Linksys router, but the instant I try to secure it in any way (i.e. WEP, WPA-TKIP/ESA, etc.), I lose all connectivity.  Is there anyone out there who can "step by step" the configuration for us dummies out here?

Inspiron 8600
1.5GHZ
15.4 UXGA
60GB
512MB
64MB Nvidia
TrueMobile 1400 802.11 a/b/g
XP Professional w/SP1 (and I even downloaded the WPA patch from MS)

Thanks!

You need to use the exact same key for both the router and the wireless card.

1.  Make sure the antenna connectors are firmly on the wireless card.
2.  Get and install the latest driver (Downloads tab above) for your card.
3.  Read other posts about the 1300 and try those fixes.
