Wlan connection problem - Gigaset Adapter

Hi,

I am trying to connect to my Wireless Lan with a Dimension E520 using a Gigaset USB Wlan adapter. My first connection attempt was successful, but after restarting I have been unable to connect again.

I continually receive the message "Prism profiles server module has encountered a problem and needs to close". I've established that the prsimsvr.exe is part of the software installation for the Gigaset adapter. I've tried killing the process, but any attempt to connect causes the exe to restart. I've found some further information such as this link, http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/prismsvr.exe.html
but nothing which advises on how to stop the error message occurring. I've downloaded & installed the latest drivers for the adapter, turned off my firewall etc. but this made no difference. I am able to connect to the same router using a laptop and the same Wlan adapter.

Presumably restarting my computer after the initial successful connection caused a setting(s) to change, so perhaps I should reinstall windows etc? I'd be grateful for any advice on this issue.

BTW for anyone else who has this issue - presumably others will because prismsvr.exe is used by several brands of wireless adapter - the solution turned out to be uninstalling the Dell Network Assistant.
