WOL Latitude D510

Hi All,

Have WOL working with Latitude D510. But with a problem. WOL will work fine until you disconnect the AC plug and reinsert it. After that you have to boot up the laptop and shut it down for it to work with WOL again. What is happening is the NIC card is locking up. If you look at the activity lights the link light is on and the activity light which is normally flashing is on solid.

Does anyone have a fix or work around for this.

Thanks,

joe

Thanks for your reply. But I can make WOL work using wolcmd.exe from depicus. It will wake up every time as long as you do not disconnect the AC and plug it back in.

The problem is the NIC port locking up after removing and inserting the AC power. Since a laptop is transportable this should work after removing and inserting the AC power.

I believe this to be a bug.

I am curious whether removing and setting aside the battery to the notebook computer would make a difference.

Hi,

Removed the battery, powered it up, logged in and shutdown. Unplugged the AC and plugged it back in. WOL would still not work, ethernet port was locked up with both lights on solid.
