Won't Connect to Internet

Alright. I got my laptop (Inspiron 1525) in September, and I haven't had any problems with it until last night. All of a sudden, I can't go on the internet. We have a wireless connection set up with a router, another laptop and a desktop. The other two computers can get on the internet just fine, but not my laptop. I tried resetting the router, and I still can't get on. It says that it's connected to the router, I just cannot connect to the internet. I ran the "Diagnose and Repair" a couple times, and nothing worked. I opened the WLAN card utility and ran the connection diagnostics. Everything is "passed" until it gets to "Gateway IP ping", and then it says "failed" and skips the rest of the list. I have tried running the "ipconfig" in the Command Prompt, but nothing seems to be working. Please, help!

Thanks- ashabash

Thanks, but I've tried that and it doesn't do anything.

Try to power boot the router and modem, unplug the power cord from the router and modem for 60 seconds then plug the modem in and then the router.Once the power lights are solid on both try connecting again.

Did you ever get a response that was successful for this query?  I have had mine for approx. 18 months and all of a sudden the same thing - nothing wrong with the router and modem - other computers fine but I can't get mine on wireless - its really important as I need to access my computer away from the modem at times and have never had a problem before.  I have tried all the things you have and with the same result - if you found an answer - please post so that I can try it.

Many thanks

My mom has the Inspiron 1525 and is getting a message that the wireless is turned off but the button is in the 'on' position.  Is there a keyboard shortcut that can turn on wireless capability?

Thanks in advance.

ChristaRN,

Places to look to see if her Connection is enabled

It could be as simple as pressing Fn and F2, F2 or a switch on the computer.
