How can you make the discrimination accusation on hearsay?? By TI controller do you mean the 22mb "b" or 108mb "g"? If so, try logging to the router (your controller?) and disabling the 4x capability.
If this is not right, you need to be a lot more specific so we can help.

What do you mean tech support at DELL or Linksys discriminates people? What does that even mean? Why are they going to treat you differently?
Call Linksys tech support. I dealt with them in the past and they were okay. I suppose it all depends which support rep you get.
