You may be able to tell by finding out what the MAC address of the Ethernet or wireless adapters are, and looking up the vendor registration here or here.

Couldn't find the MAC anywhere, but I found a WL-850F on the PCB and that took me to Gemtek. Unfortunately they don't provide a driver for it on their page. A company called Sparklan also uses this same card but again no driver. If anyone has anymore ideas, I'd appreciate it, otherwise I think it's just a waiting game now.

Thanks for the help.

Just use the Llinksys driver for it; that will work fine.  Remember mini-PCI is still PCI so the "PCI" driver will work.  When I pulled the D-Link mini-PCI out of the DWL-520+ PCI card, the driver that came with it worked fine.  In fact, the driver for the DWL-650+ PCMCIA card actually loaded automatically upon boot, but that doesn't help you.  Just use the Linksys driver.

Anyone guess why retail stores (Best Buy, Office Max Depot, Circuit City) have stopped selling the "b"+ (22mb) models of the D-Link line now that "g" is being pushed?  You can still get the straight "b" stuff, but not the + models.

Don't take this the wrong way but, don't ya think I tried that???

It's not a linksys card, its a gemtek card. They make a Linux driver, which is what linksys uses for it. I need a Windows driver which takes Linksys out of the equation.

Thanks anyway.

Well, the link is no good but judging by the URL that's definately the one I'm looking for!

Funny , I checked their site and couldn't find a link for that driver anywhere,in fact, I just checked again and still couldn't find one.

Can you tell me where you found that link and maybe I can get some help there.

Thanks again.

It wasn't a displayed link or page - I looked at the link on another card and used the same form except changed the model name to the card you have.  Sometimes you gotta be a dectective!
