X300 Bluetooth not working

I recently did a complete reinstall of XP to my X300 from the supplied Dell CD's. Despite downloading the latest drivers etc. i cannot get my internal Bluetooth device to work. In fact i get an error message saying that the device cannot be found.

If i enable my internal WIFI card pressing Fn+F2 switches it on and off (didn't do this prioir to the reinstall). If i disable the WIFI card then after pressing Fn+F2 The Bluetooth device appears in the device manager with the yellow ! indicating an eror. If i select reinstall driver then i get the error message saying it cannot find the device.

I gave the blue/red bluetooth symbol on the task bar

Going round in circles...............

GGUK,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

The exclamation mark indicates that the device is recognized but the driver is incorrect.  To remedy this, I recommend downloading current drivers from the Downloads tab (above) You may also consider visiting the Windows Update site to obtain any other drivers that you need.

thanks for the advice. I have tried this already but thought i would try again. Downloaded R77162 and ran setup from the sub folder 301804.

After a while i get a message asking me to turn on Bluetooth Radio by pressing Fn+F2. (If i hit cancel it states that the BT device eas not detected). After pressing Fn+F2 i get another alert message saying that the PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A MiniPCI adaptor is still disabled. If i enable the WIF card pressing Fn+F2 turns that on and off and has no affect on the bluetooth card.

The error in device manager if i manually try and update the errored drive and point to R77162\301804 i eventually get the error "bluetooth module in firmware upgrade problem"etc etc

There is i guess a conflict between the BT and WIFI cards.

I have not flashed my BIOS from the original (A04)?
