xp reload lost modem???

I just reloaded my whole XP system using the reload disc (it was corrupted somehow). The house I'm in now only has dialup internet, and when I went to load AOL into the newly reloaded laptop, the AOL program couldn't find a modem.

 

It could tell, somehow, that I had previously used broadband, but no modem could be found.

 

Since the laptop has been used mainly at college, where the LAN connection was available, I don't know what modem I am looking for. Did it, being internal, get thrown out when I reloaded Windows? There is no modem on my backed-up material. Is there a solution here?
