XPS 140 Problem staying connected to wireless network
Hi,
I am having a problem with my XPS 140 staying connected to my network. I am using a Linksys WRT45 router, with WEP encryption. I have another computer and TIVO on this network, both are working fine. My 140 will connect to the network on startup, but shows it is disconnected after a few minutes. In the Wireless connection screen, it shows that the network is connected, but the icon at the bottom of the screen shows no connection, and I can't access the internet. The network strength is full, and the signal is excellent. Can anyone help me figure out what could be causing it to disconnect?
Thanks-
Sue

Is this a problem I should call XP tech support about, or will they try to blame my network?

Which wireless network adapter do you have in your computer? If it is an Intel card, see the following:

To help troubleshoot this problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.
