Sounds like an energy savings settings problem. Change energy saving from your wireless card to "Maximum performance" and it should be allright. McAfee is not a problem, a lot of people are complaining about that and they are, somewhat, wrong.
I just updated my driver for the network adapter. There are no firmware updates for the modem. The network seems to be working now, the updated driver must have worked, Although its less than half of the speed that my laptop gets (only a bandwidth reading of 428 Kbps when my connection should be 1.5 Mbps). Also, It doesn't automatically connect to the network when I restart my computer. For some reason, it keeps resetting the network key. So in order to connect, I must go into the network settings and delete the key that is default and reset to the correct one. Is there a way to lock in the network key so that it doesn't reset? I'd like to have it automatically connect when I reboot. Thanks for all your help Steve...
