XPS 8100 - Wireless Network Connection - Doesn;t have valid IP Configuration

Hi,

just purhcased new XPS8100 with wireless card so that I could link with my Netgear router. Operating system Win 7 64 bit. All worked well for 4 weeks now I get the message that "Wireless Network Connection doesn;t have a valid IP Configuration". The XPS 8100 is locally connected to router but no Internet connection. My other home PC's running Vista 32 bit and Win XP all connect fine.

A lot of dialogue on internet about Win 7 IP connection issues but anyone withWW1525 (802.ln) WLAN PCIe card that Dell install have similar issues ?

Help appreciated.

t_2_goo,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

First make sure the driver is installed. If so, try the steps below.

Obtain IP address automatically.

a. Click "Start", input "NCPA.CPL" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.

b. Right click on the connection that you use for the local connection, and then click "Properties".

c. Click to select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", and then click "Properties".

d. Check "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".

e. Click "OK".
